Untreated jute rope on spool – highest quality
Jute rope is made from completely natural raw materials, and only plant-based mineral oil is used in the spinning process to preserve the natural product. The rope is manufactured by the Netherlands’ oldest rope maker.
It is soft, comfortable and easy to tie and knot.
Jute is a natural and versatile material that is suitable for many uses. It can be used, for example, to make chair seats, tie up plants or, with the thicker dimensions, for tug-of-war.
The difference between JBO and plant-based mineral oil
We use plant-based mineral oil in our products and have chosen not to use JBO. The plant-based oil is made from renewable raw materials and is biodegradable, making it a more natural and environmentally conscious alternative. It provides good protection and a pleasant surface without containing any synthetic additives.
JBO, on the other hand, is a synthetically produced oil. It is very stable and less affected by temperature and storage time, but is not based on natural or renewable raw materials. The difference therefore lies mainly in origin and environmental impact: plant-based mineral oil is chosen for its natural content, while JBO is chosen for its technical properties.
