How do we measure elongation?
The elongation for our products is measured at the working load, which is 20% of the rope’s breaking strength (the force required for the rope to snap). You should never load the rope with more than 20% of its breaking strength. Staying within this limit ensures the rope maintains its quality and longevity.
If a rope has a breaking strength of 1,000 kg and a working elongation of 2%, it means the rope will stretch by 2% when subjected to a pulling force of approximately 200 kg.
